WebAug 12, 2013 · Mind you, this is not my normal mode of brewing. I ended up using a biab to lauter a couple sparges that stuck because of adjunct grains. I scooped out the mash tun and strained the contents through the bag, directing the liquid to the boil kettle. I then put the biab with semi-spent grain in the mash tun and added my sparge water. A BIAB mash uses the whole volume of liquor used in the recipe during the mash. There is no sparge for BIAB brewing, this, of course, speeds the whole brewing process up.
